The Importance Of Morals In Society…

// August 29th, 2010 // 1 Comment » // News / Society

When you consider the story:   ’The Lord Of The Flies’, the baseness of human nature is thrown in our face for examination. One cannot help but conclude that without civility we are doomed to be overrun by animal nature.

Without a code of conduct or any honor system, society becomes its antithesis.

The stability of a culture or society really depends on the morality of its people. The more virtuous the people, the more likely they will have a strong society and culture. To validate this theory, one does not have to look very far.

Let us take corruption as an example.  One can certainly make an argument that the more corruption exists, the less stability exists. Corruption starts with officials and ‘persons in position of authority’. The people, or rather, the masses can often stand a large amount of this nonsense, but there is a breaking point leading to violent dissolution and the formation of a new government if total anarchy does not ensue.

One can argue that it is necessary to have clean, fresh breath to avoid provoking a natural escape reflex in others.  Diplomacy is dealued when the breath is not clean as in using therabreath oral rinse .  Fresh breath is important in any close quarters.

Speaking of this, many politicians are wearing makeup on TV. Are they there to run a country or be a movie star?   I guess if they want to be a movie star they can take a clue from kardashian teeth whitening for pearly whites so they can look good on camera!

Finally, It is important to completely demolish any trace of gum disease.  To have health teeth, you must have healthy gums to hold those teeth in. But, I  digress with this nonsense. Time to move on.

It appears that the time it takes to reach the point of revolution depends on many factors and circumstances. A government that does not reject the notion of violence routinely used against the population can often keep the people subdued for extended periods of time. Perhaps even indefinitely. However, it does seem that evil cannot last forever.

For a good case study of a government that has persisted for some time, one should look up The Nine Commentaries – it is an interesting historical record of how what amounts to a gang of hoodlums can legitimize themselves through long term oppression that lasts for generations.

It is difficult for the new generations to discern the truth in mass once ‘educated’ within such a closed system.  Only a few ‘thinkers’ or individuals seem to be able to peirce through lies that make up an entire educational system.  Or, perhaps only a few brave souls dare to.  No matter, if there are only a few, there is little they can do to change the status quo – or so it seems.

History is full of many examples of individuals making a difference, and paving the way for a better life and better conditions for the masses.  These people are generally remembered in a positive light, even though at their own historical time, they may have been viewed as trouble makers or radicals. Sometimes they are even unjustly criminalized.

Great societies can fall when their internal standards of morality continue to sink without boundaries.  How close is the society that you live in to fitting that description?

Those who eschew non-violent methods seem to have the greatest impact later on in terms of history!

A Woman Displays Symptoms Of Alcohol Dependency And Depression And Schedules An Appointment To See Her Healthcare Professional About Her Excessive Drinking

// June 6th, 2010 // No Comments » // News / Society

Teresa was a forty-year-old legal secretary who realized that she had a problem with her drinking. For instance, within the past month she has felt the need to have two or three drinks before going to work, six weeks ago she failed a random urine alcohol test at work, two weeks ago she got arrested by the state highway patrol for a DUI, and lastly, for roughly three months she has started to forget what she says and does when she drinks with her pals.

Similar to other people, Teresa’s involvement with alcohol started out gradually and stayed at this level for quite some time due to the fact every so often she engaged in casual social drinking. In fact, for almost seven months, every time she drank, she made sure to drink in moderation. Something about her drinking activities, nevertheless, seemed to drastically change when she got divorced from her husband.

So She Can Come to Terms With the Divorce of Her Husband With Less Misery, Teresa Came to a Decision That She Will Begin Palling Around More Regularly With Some of Her Friends Who Love to Have Fun and Drink

Teresa got dreadfully despondent about the loss of her husband, and as a way to quit obsessing about her discouraging emotions she arrived at a decision that she would begin going out more repeatedly with some of her pals who love to have fun and drink.

Quite sincerely, Teresa figured that having fun nearly every day by getting “mellow” and drinking with her friends would help her come to terms with the loss of her husband with less sorrow.

Stress, Time, and Anger Management Difficulties

Teresa also reasoned that drinking with her friends would help her stay away from her anger, stress, and time management problems.

Teresa’s Drinking Increases Substantially the More Often She Goes to Private Parties, Family Get-Togethers, Happy Hours, Dinner Dates, and Sporting Events With Her Friends

It didn’t take too long, nevertheless, before her drinking escalated substantially the more frequently she went to and drank at private parties, happy hours, sporting events, dinner dates, and family get-togethers with her buddies. In addition, the fact that her drinking buddies were all quite a bit younger than she was and therefore able to drink more irresponsibly was one of the reasons that she didn’t center more of her attention on her increased drinking. In a word, she was drinking and having a ton of fun just like everybody else in her group of buddies without paying much attention to the consequences of her excessive and abusive drinking.

Yet somewhere in her mind she realized that she most probably required alcohol rehabilitation but sidestepped the thought as much as she could.

Teresa Gets a Physical, Owns up to the Truth About Her Excessive and Abusive Drinking to Her Physician, and Owns Up to the Truth About Her Depression

One late afternoon during her six-month physical, her doctor asked her if she drank alcohol. Not wanting to tell “stories” to her doctor, Teresa ”came clean” and stated that she regularly drinks more than she should. In reality, she said that she regularly drinks in an irresponsible manner. Then Teresa told her physician about her constant negativity. More plainly, she stated that shattered relationships commonly elicited a negative chain of events typified by increased drinking which further led to more discouraging feelings that, in turn, resulted in more drinking. And this is precisely what took place when her husband and she got divorced eleven months ago.

When her doctor heard this, he told Teresa that according to various alcoholism facts and statistics on alcoholism he was reviewing, alcoholism and depression routinely happen in the same person. He then told her that some of the alcohol statistics, facts, and research investigations he has been studying also emphasize the fact that individuals who drink in an excessive manner and who also go through depression need to obtain treatment for both medical situations.

Teresa’s Physician Schedules an Appointment for a Psychological Assessment and For an Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse Assessment

Teresa’s healthcare professional then said the following: “I am not trying to make an overly quick judgment, but with your medical condition we may be facing two separate issues. As a consequence, I think we need to schedule an appointment for you to get an alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse evaluation from my partner, Dr. Kennard, who is an alcohol and drug addiction specialist. Whether your drinking problem is more correlated with alcohol addiction or alcohol abuse is unclear, but I believe that further exploration is reasonable. Then I believe we probably should schedule an appointment for you to get a psychological exam from another one of my partners, Dr. Kanter, who is a clinical psychologist. I want to get a better handle on your depression and see how much your drinking and depression are interrelated.” Teresa showed her endorsement of her physician’s “game plan” and thanked him for his time and concern.

Teresa Deals With the Sexuality Difficulties and the Conflict When She Was Married

In reality, Teresa now experienced a sense of personal self esteem and happiness because she finally became inspired to do something positive about her abusive and excessive drinking and her depression. Not only this, but Teresa also realized that after alcohol rehab she would be better able to deal with the sexuality issues and the conflict when she was married. Now all she had to do was to try to decrease her drinking and get ready for her appointments.

The Difference Between Lethal and Non-Lethal Weapons

// May 2nd, 2010 // 1 Comment » // News / Society

The world today is an unsafe place and the increase in violent crime rates will attest to that. Consequently, it is essential for individuals to be ever vigilant about their personal safety. One way is with self-defense weaponry. Self-defense armaments can be classified as lethal and non-lethal. Let’s look at the differentiation of each individual type.

Lethal Weapons

Rifles, shotguns, handguns and knives are considered lethal arsenal because they are deadly and their effects can be everlasting. Most necessitate schooling in their use and some entail a license or permit to carry. It takes habitual practice to be accomplished in using this type of weaponry. If your attacker is unarmed and you make the choice to use a lethal weapon to defend yourself, it might be viewed by the courts as a use of “excessive force”. Consider also that your own deadly weapon can and probably will be used against you if an assailant is successful in disarming you. They can also injure an innocent eyewitness if the user isn’t being cautious enough. Lethal weapons can cost a lot to possess and the accountability of ownership is much greater. If you are willing to use lethal force to protect yourself or your family, then you may have to live with the repercussions for the rest of your life.

Non-Lethal Weapons

A non-lethal weapon is specifically designed and primarily used to incapacitate an individual, while minimizing fatalities and permanent injury. Unlike conventional firearms, non-lethal weapons utilize a means other than deadly force to achieve their objective. Defensive sprays, like pepper spray and mace, and energy devices, like self defense stun guns and tasers, are prime examples of non lethal weapons. When correctly used, non-lethal weapons will result in little or no injuries, no fatalities and have no lasting after effects. Yet they are powerful enough to halt an assailants assault giving you enough time to run away. A license or permit is not needed in order to carry this type of arsenal. Anyone can use them with little or no special training. Many have safety precautions, which will render the piece of equipment inoperative if a mugger takes it away from you. Another benefit of non-lethal weapons is there is lower risk of innocent bystanders being seriously harmed because none of the effects are lasting. They are less expensive than most lethal weapons.

Make Your Choice

The type of self protection armament you decide to carry, weather lethal or non-lethal, is an individual choice. Keep in mind, being armed and prepared to use a weapon in self-defense won’t stop every crime, however, it can drastically reduce your chances for an attack and greatly increase your survival if you are attacked.

With the Internet, worried Internet-familiar people sent out emergency details of any districts incorporating images and short videos, requests for quick and more additional aid, and improvisations people do to deal with or counter the emergency they must tackle. Spongebob Squarepants Will Melt Your Childs Mind

// February 5th, 2010 // No Comments » // Movies / TV

It’s been a long time since we first met Spongebob Squarepants in 1999, though there doesn’t seem to be much talk about the awful things he continues to do to our poor little childrens’ minds on a daily basis.

Why are there not hordes of protestors in the streets chanting angy slogans? Where is the Senatorial debate? Why do we not see masses of protestors with signs and torches when we need them to come to our aid?

Spongebob is a sea sponge that lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the ocean in a town called “Bikini Bottom”.

It is easy to point out many different things that are wrong with this one sentence that really should cause you to think about what Spongebob is teaching children!

- Spongebob looks like a yellow kitchen sponge and not a sea sponge at all, though both his parents do look much more like sea sponges

- He lives in a pineapple that never biodegrades

- The towns’ name is a sexual innuendo

- Bikini Bottom is also a reference to Bikini Atoll, an area devastated by the USA in the 1940s and 50s by nuclear weapons testing

With that one simple sentence about the show we have already come across some major issues, and yet nobody says a word and we continue to allow our children to watch. With every single episode that you watch, you will notice more and more things in the show that could be damaging to your childs developing mind.

Many of the characters at different times have used fire underwater; like a campfire.

The characters go to the “Goo Lagoon” beach to swim and sunbathe… underwater. One of the fish on the show named “Scooter” drowned at “Goo Lagoon” because after being buried in the sand up to his neck, he was left there as the “high tide” came in and nobody dug him out! (Spongebob Season 2: Episode Name: Bubble Buddy)

Scooter does return in later episodes, alive.

The various fish-based characters drive boats as cars and ride bicycles with multiple rotating paddles as wheels.

Spongebobs’ neighbor is “Squidward Tentacles” the octopus… though he has 6 tentacles instead of the correct number of either 8 for an octopus or 10 for a squid. Squidward the octopus likes to play his clarinet… underwater.

“Mr. Krabs” is a crab that owns the “Krusty Krab” restaurant, and he has a daughter named “Pearl”… that is a Sperm Whale.

Across the street from the Krusty Krab is the “Chum Bucket” restaurant owned by “Sheldon J. Plankton” whom everyone refers to as just “Plankton”. Plankton is in fact not “planktonic” (drifting in sea waters), but is “benthic” (living on the ocean floor), and is married to…. a computer named “Karen”, whom in the Spongebob movie states that she never agreed to marry Plankton.

And now Spongebob has moved from your television into the real world.

I currently reside with my lovely wife and two wonderful children just outside St. Paul MN, and we sometimes go to Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. We have taken the children to the renamed “Camp Snoopy” which is now “Nickelodeon Universe”, and there you can find many references to Spongebob throughout the amusement park. On occasion they even have a person dressed as Spongebob walking around greeting children, and they can also have their photo taken with him.

What more proof do we need that Spongebob is a conspiracy to brainwash our children and make them think that all the anomalies I pointed out above are to be considered “normal” or “acceptable”?

Do we really only care about being spoon fed mindless entertainment each day from the moment we wake? We are being trained that we don’t have to think for ourselves or wonder about what might really be the important goings-on in the world; and instead we should just sit back, watch “American Idol” and consume, obey and reproduce.

I took a quick break from my Sony digital camera repair work and just finished watching my Spongebob Season 3 box set, and will purchase season 4, 5, 6 etc. shortly… for research purposes only I assure you. Once I have watched them all I will publish the results of my study… a few times… with my kids by my side because they love that sponge and we watch the show daily. Now I need to get back to some Canon digital camera repair work or I won’t be able to buy that new Spongebob box set!

I can’t wait for the new Spongebob movie to come out? I can’t wait to see it!

The Scope and Nature of the Criminal Law

// February 2nd, 2010 // No Comments » // News / Society

In our private lives, the realm of law we tend to can expertise the most, either directly or indirectly would have to be the criminal law.  Not necessarily through contravening its principals, the individual citizen can a lot of commonly encounter its breadth in the course of their everyday lives, considering as a factor the legal ramifications of any desired conduct or call in the decision making process.  For many of us, we tend to measure our lives among these predetermined boundaries with no second thought or query as to the morality of the prohibited choice nor the moral authority behind it.  In this article, it’s proposed to look at the nature and scope of the criminal law in our society, and to debate whether or not as an entity it is too intrusive, or whether it is naturally a required side of regulating society.

It’s often said academically {that the} citizen enjoys freedom to act as he wishes in his life, subject to the regulatory provisions of the criminal law and therefore the criminal justice system.  It’s thought that as citizens of a particular country, largely at freedom to decide on where we tend to live in the world, we tend to impliedly settle for the authority of the relevant legal provisions that, for the most part, regulate on a moral level.  In fact there are exceptions, i.e. criminal laws of a regulatory or secondary nature that do not directly bear any moral message, such as dashing limits or parking restrictions.  Thus, then, to what extent will the criminal law reflect morality, and further from what supply is this morality derived?

The criminal law is alleged to control in mind of the general public smart, and the advantage of society.  It might, therefore, be argued to be crossing the boundaries into serious restrictions on liberty when it regulates personal conduct like drug use which might not have any wider impact than on that of the person indulging accordingly.  Why ought to the criminal law impose restrictions on what a person will do along with his or her own body?  Surely our own freewill may be a good enough justification for acting outwith the scope of the law in these varieties of state of affairs?

Furthermore an attention-grabbing space of the criminal law is potential liability for omissions.  During this sense, the citizen will truly be punished while not performing at all in a specific way.  This takes the criminal law beyond a regulatory framework for the general public sensible into an actual coercive force to form folks completely act during a sure way.  For example, in some jurisdictions there is a legal duty to report a road traffic accident.  This means a citizen who is tuned in to the prevalence of such can have committed a criminal offence where he will not act within the prescribed manner.  Once more, this can be surely affording a broad scope to the criminal law, which could be seen by some as intruding on the elemental freedoms and values upon that most fashionable nations were built.

It’s fascinating to contemplate the real impact of the criminal law, and the sheer breadth of conduct it regulates.  From the objectively morally wrong to the less obvious cases of imposition of liability, the criminal law places severe restrictions on the overall principal of absolute liberty, that is clearly the topic of much tutorial and philosophical debate.

The UK Constitution: Does it Exist?

// February 2nd, 2010 // No Comments » // News / Society

The UK is one in all the few developed countries in the globe while not a written constitution.  Despite this, its economy is prospering because it strengthens its position joined of the richest nations in the world.  On top of that, it is pivotally located inside the European federal framework regardless of its comparatively tiny geographic land mass and population.  This raises an obvious question as to the mechanisms of governance: if there isn’t a constitution, how has the UK survived in this way, and how will it still prosper in an exceedingly modern era without any distinct definitively specified legal order?

The United Kingdom is in contrast to most other nations in the globe in that it’s not suffered any major constitutional amendment since the Middle Ages.  Since that point, it has been predominantly governed by a monarch in conjunction along with his or her parliament.  That said, it’s proven to be of continuous success throughout the ages while not the strict written kind that a lot of countries have adopted.  From this has sprung an unprecedented flexibility, and therefore the UK has effectively developed its own (non-binding) constitutional conventions to stay the country running smoothly.  Additionally, the bi-cameral (or twin chamber) parliament plus the necessary monarchical ratification serves to supply a comprehensive set of checks and balances that would otherwise be provided through a written constitution.

The statement {that the} UK is lacking a constitution is misleading.  Of course there is no written document, but the UK encompasses a made and diverse legal tapestry that works fluidly and has so for centuries.  This fluidity has allowed for adaptation when necessary, and has allowed the UK to flourish and develop where others did not have the chance.  Behind the scenes is an equally strict and wrought-iron code of conduct, that will partially be derived from codes of practices, Acts of Parliament and other ‘bits and items’.  Though there could not be a constitution present within the sense of one definitive document, the UK most certainly operates on the inspiration of a constitution that keeps the country running smoothly on a daily basis.

A major facet of the UK constitution is that the thorough legislative method required for legal enactment.  Any bill must firstly be proposed to the House of Commons, an elected body of representatives empowered with the power of legislative initiative.  The first chamber proposes legislation and debates the provisions in depth, before agreeing on a final draft to pass to the second chamber, referred to as the House of Lords.  The House of Lords are largely un-elected, with ‘membership’ passed down from generation to generation, or new members proposed by the House of Commons.  They then have the proper of veto, and a capability to refer back to the first chamber their proposed changes to any bills.  This ensures no rushed legislation passes, and in theory ought to cowl all eventualities.  Once passing both Houses, it’s mentioned the monarch, who encompasses a personal responsibility to confirm any legislation is in accordance with the will of the individuals, and is morally justified.  Though the monarch hasn’t used her power of veto since the 17th century, it’s still an necessary constitutional safeguard within the UK.

The UK constitution may not seem obvious initially, however there’s most definitely an intricate web of governance and observe lying beneath its blank exterior.  It’s been described as the most successful constitution in the planet, and this can be bolstered by its perpetual success and lack of issues since its early evolution.
