One thing as human beings we all seem to share is that we want to solve problems ourselves.We do not usually listen to advices and this can be attributed to our independent nature.But in reality we should seek help if our problems is out of our reach already. It is a wise thing to do to use the wisdom of others.One problem we can set as example are problems in marriage or in a relationship. Hopefully we can show you the importance of using a marriage counselor for problems.

First of all when there are problems in marriage it is a serious thing.It’s not something like a quarrel with a friend when you are still a child which can fade away in a day.A broken marriage can bring many cosnequences to a family.And that can be the reason why you must seek help in a marriage counselor. As a marriage counselor San Diego or with any other counselor the benefits outweigh the difficulty of asking someone for help.

One benefit counseling can give is that it can give a neutral ground for both parties. Usually a lot of the fights happen in the home. Because of that sometimes the home feels like a battleground.That is why an office of the counselor can feel like a place that is safe. In my family counselor San Diego practice I have seen how the office environment has helped peole works things out.

Another benefit is a good counseling service can help the couple communicate.Communication breakdown is the most prevalent reason why a marriage breaks down.It would be hard to help a couple to work things out if the communication breaks down already.A good marriage counselor can help bring that communication back. That is one of the specialties in my San Diego marriage counseling practice that I run.Because if the communication that was gone before comes back it would be easier for the couple to work things out.

Hopefully you would realize the need for marriage counseling and see its benefits to a troubled marriage.The only thing you must do is eat your pride and go and seek help.

How counseling can help couples with relationship troubles

Having to spend your life with your special one is one of the most wonderful things that people can experince in their life.But for some it is the most painful thing that they can undergo.  Usually that happens when you are in a relationship such as a marriage and fighting happens.One of the saddest things that can happen is a happy relationship that turned hostile.  In this article we are going to look at knowing when it is time for marriage counseling.Because getting some needed help can still save the relationship before all is too late.

First of all seeking help is one of the hardest things for people to do.  That is why in my marriage counselor San Diego service I often get cases where it is too late.  Of course the ones that come in early are always sometimes the easiest to try and fix.But that is not what I usually find in couples who go seek my help.  The main factor in success or failure is if the couple is willing to to try to work it out.Even if they go seek help at the start of their problems if one of the couple is not willing to do it then it would still not work out.

Marriage counseling can give them a lot of help once they decide to seek help.  One of my specialties as a family counselor San Diego practice is the ability to help a couple communicate better.  Often times problems in marriage starts from a breakdown in communications.  If a couple learns how to communicate that usually helps start the reconciliation.

Another good thing that marriage counseling brings to a troubled relationship is that it can provide a neutrla ground for them to air their grievances.What I’m trying to say is that marriage counseling provides a place where a couple can really say what they want to say where the couple has no advantage over the other. So rather than having their home be the place of trying to fix things the office gives a neutral place.  This is what helps a lot of my clients of my couples counseling San Diego practice start the road getting better.

Hopefully, after going through this article you would be encouraged to go through marriage counseling.

Important facts on why marriage counseling helps

// December 25th, 2009 // No Comments » // News / Society

One thing that is sad that does happen in life is when a marriage starts to break up. A couple that thought they were going to live a life of happiness together all of a sudden experiences pain. If their kids are also involved, it gives rise to pain to the children. But one major benefit of it is all marriage problems can be solved. Now of course both people involved have to want to work it out. If they are willing, the marriage can be saved.  That is what this article will look at are some key points that help.

First of all this comes from experience as a marriage counselor San Diego. These showed solutions on how couples with marriage problems to fix it.  The first thing counseling does is it provides a level playing field for the couple. In other words during sessions they can feel secure without having to be alienated. A good counselor can evoke that out of them.

Next what a good marriage counseling San Diego service should do is help them communicate. Communication is so important and is often the reason they are having problems. The moment the lines of communication are severed, the issues become harder to solve.  But a good counselor can teach them some effective communication tips.

Next thing a good counselor can do is teach both parties how to listen. It is a contributing factor to communication, but a lot of times it needs to be imparted.  I do it all the time doing couples counseling San Diego service. Mutual understanding begins once you are able to teach them how to listen to one another.

So those are some highlights that a good counselor can help couples who are laboring.  If a couple is willing to work it out a marriage can always be saved. It is never to late to help them fix their issues. It has shown the ability to benefit a lot of people.

How to convince a spouse to undergo marriage counseling

// December 8th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // News / Society

One of the toughest problems that people can have is marriage problems.  Whether you are a couple just starting or have been married for many years.It would still be hard to go through it.  It really affects not just the couple but other aspects of our lives.Their kids can also be affected.Their work can also be affected.So, how can one convince his/her other half to undergo marriage therapy?  This article hopes to answer that.

Now you may be wondering why you would need to convince the spouse? Because it is proven time and time again in my San Diego marriage counseling practice that a lot of times only one person wants help.Those would be the times when it is hard to convince the couple that they really need help.If that is the case then you must have the know how on how to convince them that your relationship is in dire need of help.Of course it would still be up to them to decide if they still want to save their realtionship.If they both decide to go on with their lives separated from each other then nothing can really help.

So when one person comes to me needing help as a San Diego marriage therapist I try to come up with ways to show the other person they need help.And showing how serious the problem is is one way that I convince them that they need counseling.I try to show them that their problems as a couple also affect their whole family.And I also tell them that other areas of their lives are also affected by their problems.Usually, that woudl be enough to convince them to undergo counseling.That would be if they still want to reconcile with their other half and patch things up.

Now doing couples counseling San Diego there are times when the other person doesn’t want to fix the relationship. At that point the person that does want help needs to know what to do.But what can one still do if the other one has already decided that he/she wants out.You can point out what they are doing wrong in the relationship but if they do not listen then what can one do more.

Marriage counselor and the help it can give a couple

// November 14th, 2009 // No Comments » // News / Society

Divorce is one of the saddest things that happen in our society nowadays. And the couple are not just the people affected by this development.  Often times it involves children as well.What’s sad about it is that it could have been avoided.If the couple just decided to seek counseling early on the problems and the divorce could have been prevented. So, let us discuss some of the good things that marriage counseling brings to a marriage.

First thing it can provide is an environment where both parties can work out their differences.Of course, the only time it will work is when both parties want to work it out.  I have seen couples in my marriage counselor San Diego practice who didn’t really want to work it out.If that is the case then it will never really work.But if the parties really want to make it work then counseling will give a lot of help.

Next marriage counseling will provide a nice environment for the couple.A neutral place to express and say what they want without any worries is what I meant by nice environment. That way they can feel safe.  If they feel in a more comfortable environment this will help out the process.This is a better way to work it out since working out your problems at home will only result to more quarelling. So many couples come in for my marriage counseling San Diego service and they immediately are more civil in the office.

Finally, an effective therapist will be able to help them communicate better. That is one of the important keys to resolving all their issues.What I’m referring to is communication.The most common problem of couples is that they have trouble communicating.  Most of the time instead of communicating they are really just yellling.By seeking help through counseling, the therapist can help the couples communicate better.  In my couples counseling San Diego practice I emphasize the need for communication.  It is one of the most important aspects of this whole process.It will be the key to preventing the marriage go into a divorce.

The reasons behind success and failure in sports

// November 2nd, 2009 // No Comments » // News / Society

Sports and learning how to succed with it is funny indeed.you can take someone who is a great athlete, yet they can’t make it.Then you might have someone who is average at best yet becomes super successful.At first look it doesn’t seem explainable.But when you take a closer examination you see the real reason some have success and other fail is the mind.  But why is that?In this article we are going to examine it a little closer.

So why does the mind play such a big factor in sports?  As a San Diego sports psychology I have been priveleged to see first hand why this is so.  First off the stereotype of athletes being big and dumb is false.  Athletes are some of the brightest individuals around.And the ones that have the most success are the ones who have learned how to use their mind.

Funny thing a lot of athletes come in needing my anger managementcounseling practice.A lot of times they get this anger because they failed in sports.  But what I am able to do is turn them around.The way to really help them is to show them how failure begins within the mind.By being able to use their mind more effectively, they can have great success.It has proven itself over time many times.

Once the athlete is truly able to understand the power their mind has they can achieve success.  Most of the time they can achieve tremendous success.  It is like most things in life.  The mind has so much impact on actions and results.I see that it doesn’t just happen with athletes, but it also affects with some families I deal with.  The family therapist San Diego practice I run I have used some of the same principles to help families achieve success.  Success in overcoming whatever family struggles they may be having.In life including sports, the key most of the times is in your mind.

Marriage counselors and how to look for a good one

// November 1st, 2009 // No Comments » // News / Society

When experiencing marriage struggles, asking others for help is one of the toughest thing to do for a couple.  Namely, looking to a marriage counselor to help you.But how do you look for someone that can really address your problems as a couple when you already have the courage to look for help.That is a difficult question question to answer.But when something sacred like your marriage is on the line you want to find the right answer to that question.

So what are the things that make a counselor to be a good one?  In my marriage counselor San Diego service I try to answer that for all my clients.My answers depend on what they are looking for.The reason I said this is because there is the need for the couples to trust their therapist so that the relationship would work.Because if they don’t have any trust in the counselor then there will be no solution to their problems as a couple.But if they trust the counselor then it will be good for them. Without trust one or both of the parties will not work positively towards a solution.

Another thing that I have learned helping with couples counseling San Diego is experience.  Most couples I run across want someone experienced.It makes sense because an experienced marriage counselor have the know how in dealing with different kinds of marriage problems. And that experience will enable the counselor to provide solutions to different kinds of problems. This trend makes it hard for new therapist to gain experience but it is how it is.

Finally doing San Diego marriage counseling has allowed me to see that most couples want someone with the same values. In other words there are different therapy techniques.But if the technique that is being taught to them is contrary to what they firmly believe in then it definitely will not work.So you should look for a counselor that shares your views as a couple.This will make a relationship that will work for you and your partner.

Those were some of the things that couples want to look for when they are looking for a good counselor.  Of course it doesn’t cover everything but it is a good start to find help.And in the end those are the things that struggling couples want.

Anger management and its effects on family

// October 21st, 2009 // No Comments » // News / Society

One thing people have in common is enotions.  On some people these emotions are more easily displayed.  For some emotions it is good.Some people display emotions such as happiness and excitement and laughter.  Others show emotions of sadness or anger. All people have emotions and they usually express it but sometimes they get out of hand. Things such as anger is one of those emotions.

As you have read in this article anger can be dangerous and detrimental to family life. In my practice doing anger management counseling I have seen the effects it can have on a family. It could be very uncomfortable if you live with that person. It could make everybody afraid to say the wrong thing. It can turn a place of safety into a place where there is always negativity and anger. The place of safety I’m referring to is our homes.

One of the strange things is that a few times this anger stems from a depression of some sort. Whatever reason it may be but the case is that this person is depressed. Once they do not see a solution to a problem most of the time it leads to anger. That is why I advice everyone feeling depression to seek a depression counseling. It is best to stop something before it escalates into a bigger problem which is harder to solve. Because sometimes it just does not lead into anger but into something where they eventually hurt themselves.

Either way these two emotions whether they stem from each other have to be dealt with. If you let either keep going it can get worse.It can ruin your family. It can ruin what was once a good relationship.  Being a family counselor in San Diego I stress the importance of good relationships in family life. So I stress to my readers that emotional issues should be dealt with asap. Sometimes it can be hard to swallow your pride and seek help professionally. But often times this can stop anything worse from happening.
